India Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) called on the state government to cancel the restriction of export iron ore from Karnataka. The restriction is hurting the development of this industry and has a bad effect on government incomes. It was estimated that the state government lost about 290 billion rupees in 10 years due to the restriction from 2010. In 2018-2019, there were around 6.7 million tons of iron ore imported to local market which made the local products encounter poor sales and made the government have losses.
