A. EXPORTS (including re-exports) Exports during July, 2012 were valued at USD 22442.96 million (INR 124546.75 crore) which was 14.80% lower in Dollar terms (6.45% higher in Rupee terms) than the level of USD 26340.73 million (INR 116998.69 crore) during July, 2011. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-July 2012-13 was USD 97646.92 million (INR 531602.74 crore) as against USD 102848.24 million (INR 459162.24 crore) registering a negative growth of 5.06% in Dollar terms and growth of 15.78% in Rupee terms over the same period last year. B. IMPORTS Imports during July, 2012 were valued at USD 37936.18 million (INR 210526.07 crore) representing a negative growth of 7.61% in Dollar terms (growth of 15.43% in Rupee terms) over the level of imports valued at USD 41059.75 million (INR 182376.73 crore) in July, 2011. Cumulative value of imports for the period April-July, 2012-13 was USD 153195.59 million (INR 833792.71 crore) as against USD 163801.20 million (INR 731377.31 crore) registering a negative growth of 6.47% in Dollar terms and growth of 14.00% in Rupee terms over the same period last year. C. CRUDE OIL AND NON-OIL IMPORTS Oil imports during July, 2012 were valued at USD 12229.1 million which was 5.52% lower than oil imports valued at USD 12943.0 million in the corresponding period last year. Oil imports during April to July, 2012-13 were valued at USD 53814.1 million which was 2.76% higher than the oil imports of USD 52368.0 million in the corresponding period last year. Non oil imports during July, 2012 were estimated at USD 25707.1 million which was 8.57% lower than non-oil imports of USD 28116.7 million in July, 2011. Non oil imports during April to July, 2012-13 were valued at USD 99381.5 million which was 10.82% lower than the level of such imports valued at US$ 111433.2 million in April to July, 2011-12. D. TRADE BALANCE The trade deficit for April to July, 2012-13 was estimated at USD 55548.67 million which was lower than the deficit of USD 60952.96 million during April to July, 2011-12.
