Chinese silicon metal export duty was removed from January 1st 2013 and the silicon metal prices without export duty kept increasing recently following the Chinese domestic trend. The inventories of silicon metal in Indian market are purchased in November and December, when the prices were much higher against the current prices without the export duty, so the silicon metal prices in Indian local market remain generally stable.
