NMDC may revise iron ore price this week
Date: 21/08/2012

Economic Times reported that Indian Iron ore miner NMDC may announced a revision in the July to August contract price for iron ore at its board meeting scheduled on August 21.

A source close to the development said that "The NMDC Board at its meeting on August 13 did not take a call on iron ore price. It is meeting on August 21 again to consider the matter. It may revise the price.”

On increased demand and lower availability, NMDC had raised the price of the raw material by 8% to 10% for the April to June contract price. Following the hike, price of lumps with 65% iron content went up to INR 5,400 a tonne and INR 2,800 a tonne for fines containing lesser iron.
