According to statistics from the customs, in August, Japan’s scrap exports were about 496,000 tons, decreasing by 9.1% compared with the same month a year ago. In the first eight months, the exports amounted to 4.08 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 23.7%. Among them, the exports to South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Bangladesh were 2.09 million tons, 903,000 tons, 368,000 tons, and 190,800 tons, respectively, all falling year on year.
