Italian steel scrap prices fell at the end of July as steel scrap yards try to liquidate stock before the summer break. Steel mills take 2-3 weeks off in August so activity in the end of July is slow and steel scrap yards have cut their prices by EUR10t in order to shift material. Other European steel mills have rejected any offers due to weak economic activity in the Eurozone having a negative impact on steel demand.
