ET reported that taking positive cues from the overseas markets and a pick up in spot demand, copper futures prices rose by 0.20% to INR 430.10 per kilogram. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April rose by 85 paise or 0.20% to INR 430.10 per kilogram with a turnover of 1,635 lots. Similarly, the metal for delivery in February was up by 65 paise or 0.15% at INR 423.10 per kilogram with a trade volume of 5,584 lots. Globally, copper for 3 month delivery up by 0.6% to USD 7,880 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange while at Shanghai Futures Exchange rose 0.30% to CNY 57,320 per tonne. Market analysts attributed the rise in copper in futures trade to a firming trend on the LME amid speculation that demand in China , the largest user will increase in March. Source - Economic Times
