Indian auto sector remains in down trend in June

As per latest company announcements, automobile sales in India in June 2013 continued to go down for the eighth consecutive month, with reasons ranging from high interest rates, rising fuel prices and slowdown in economy

Maruti Suzuki - 77,002 units down by 7.8% YoY
Mahindra & Mahindra - 36,207 units down by 7% YoY
TATA Motors - 48,712 units down by 18.1% YoY
Honda Cars India - 9,297 units up by 248% YoY
Ford India - 7,145 units up by 14% YoY
Hyundai Motor India - 30,610 units up by 1% YoY
Toyota Kirloskar Motor - 13,805 units down by 19.4% YoY
VE Commercial Vehicles - 3,302 units down by 18.7% YoY
Ashok Leyland - 6,967 units down by 32% YoY
Honda Motorcycle& Scooter India - 252,114 units up by 11.1% YoY
Yamaha India - up by 46.2% YoY
TVS Motor Company - 164,128 units down by 2.7% YoY
The consolidated update for June 2013 from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers is awaited

SIAM had announced in April that the Indian automobile production in 2012-13 grew by meager 1.2% over 2011-12 to 1,685,355 vehicles with domestic sales increasing by 2.61% YoY
