India major nickel scrap prices dropped on the Scrap Register Price Index as on Tuesday, while Nickel futures prices at India's Multi Commodity Exchange advanced, when Philippine miners sought to lift a ban on new large-scale mining projects after the state removed restrictions on fresh smaller ventures. According to the Scrap Register Price Index, the major nickel scrap commodities prices including nickel cathode, nickel plate (4x24), nickel plate (9x9) and nickel russian (4x4) showed an up trend on Tuesday. In futures, the most active June nickel contract on Multi Commodity Exchange dropped by 1.15 percent to Rs. 1013.50 per kilogram on Tuesday from previous close of 1002.00 per kilogram. The MCX nickel prices touched an intra-day high of Rs. 1014.90 per kilogram and an intra-day low of Rs. 988.50 per kilogram during Tuesday. The impact of trade tensions with the United States knocked equities in China, the world’s biggest metals consumer, and elsewhere in the world, while China’s currency also slipped. But China’s manufacturing sector showed slower growth in the second quarter, a private survey showed, as export orders slipped.
