Widening its portfolio in the light commercial vehicle segment, Hinduja Group flagship company Ashok Leyland launched PARTNER truck and MiTR bus.

A top company official said that PARTNER and MiTR are the latest offerings from the Ashok Leyland and Nissan JV.

Mr V Sumantran, non-executive vice chairman, Ashok Leyland, said that PARTNER was launched in India after being unveiled in Europe and Japan.

Mr Sumantran said that "We took the step after the successful launch of DOST and now we are launching MiTR and PARTNER."

He said that "With the launch, we have the full line-up of products from Ashok Leyland (in the light commercial vehicle segment)."

Currently, market leaders in the truck segment are TATA 407 and Eicher 10.59, while TATA Starbus and Eicher Starline range are the most dominant players in the bus category.
