Amtek India has completed its purchase of Germany-based Kuepper Group in a 50 million-euro all-cash deal, making the Amtek Group on of the top three global suppliers of cast and machined turbocharger housings with a 20% market share. Amtek India, the nation’s largest iron casting company, is majority owned by Amtek Auto, the flagship of the Amtek Group, the acquisition was announced on December 24. The Amtek Group with annual revenue of $2.5 billion operates 65 manufacturing facilities globally. The latest acquisition has increased the Amtek Group’s combined annual production capacity to 1.4 million tonnes in casting and 300 million pieces in the area of machining According to Amtek Group Managing Director John Flintham, the Kuepper purchase has significantly enhanced Amtek’s machining and metal die casting capabilities and made it one of the largest players in the European market. This is Amtek’s second major international acquisition – it bought Neumayer Tekfor, also in Germany, in June 2013. Kuepper manufacturers both iron and aluminium die cast products with a product portfolio that includes turbo charger castings, turbo modules , turbo housings, transmission parts, suspension and steering parts.
