Wescast Awarded New European Business
According to Wescast Industries Inc., Brantford, Ontario, Canada, its European business unit, Wescast Hungary Zrt., Oroszlany, has been awarded several new businesses by automakers in the region.
Wescast will supply cast and machined exhaust manifolds for BMW, Audi and PSA Peugeot Citroen from 2007. The BMW manifolds are for the 1.6L engines being built in the U.K.. Manifolds for the Audi 3.2L V6 engines will be shipped to Audi's Gyor, Hungary, engine plant, while the PSA Peugeot Citroen business is for the 1.4L engines at the Douvrin, France, engine plant.
According to the chairman & CEO of Wescast, the customer relationships developed in Europe has helped in diversifying customer base which resulted in improved share of the very competitive European market.
