Toyota Motors to hire 2,000
Toyota Motor is likely to hire 2,000 people in India as the company prepares to launch a small car in India by 2011. The company which runs its Indian operation Toyota Kirloskar Motor through a joint venture with the Kirloskar Group is constructing the second plant at its Bangalore facility with an investment of INR 3,200 crore to manufacture the small car.
The new plant will be functional by 2011 & have an initial annual production capacity of 70,000 units which could be expanded up to 200000 units.
Presently Toyota Kirloskar Motor's existing facility in Bangalore has installed capacity of 80,000 units per annum.
