Toyota to invest Rs 8 Billions in Bangalore plant
As per BS , Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Limited, is investing additional Rs 8 Billions in its manufacturing plant near Bangalore, to Total Rs 40 billions in next 7 years.
The company is in the process of investing Rs 32 Billions in a second plant at the same site, which is under construction, to produce a small car for India which will be ready by 2010. The additional Rs 8 billions will be invested during 2011-16. The company has so far invested Rs 17 billions in its first plant, starting from 1997, which has a capacity to produce 60,000 units per year.
The second car plant, with an annual capacity of 100,000 units, is scheduled to be completed and commissioned in December 2010 to produce the small car.
