Tata Metaliks to double turnover
Tata Metaliks Ltd, the largest pig iron manufacturer in India is likely to increase its turnover to double in the coming two years. The company is also expecting the ductile iron casting business to contribute significantly to its growth in turnover.
According to the Chairman Mr H.M Nerurkar, the turnover of the company is likely to grow to more than Rs 20 Billions by 2010 against last year's turnover of approx Rs 12 Billions approx.
The ductile iron pipe plant, coming up in Kharagpur in collaboration with Kubota Corporation of Japan, which is expected to be ready by 2010.
Pig iron produced by Tata Metaliks at Kharagpur would be the raw material for the 110,000-tonne capacity ductile iron pipe manufacturing facility.
Tata Metaliks has applied for iron ore mines in Jharkhand and Orissa. It is also seeking captive mines for the new plant in Karnataka & the company is approaching MP & West Bengal for coking coal.
