FM: India not to follow Chinese Model
Finance Minister Mr P.Chidambaram,said though the Govt of India recognized the SEZs ( Special Economic Zones ) as a very important tool for industrial growth,it will not follow the Chinese Model.Instead will implement the concept in our own way.
The FM said,that we recognize SEZs importance for development of the industry especially in the areas where the infrastructure is lacking .However,where infrastructure is good,it may not be necessary to create SEZs
Where infrastructure is not existing,SEZ will be a useful instrument to attract the investors to build infrastructure to take advantage of the concessions offered by the Govt & to industralise the area
