ECGC to reduce premium rate by 10% in August

LUDHIANA: In a major relief for exporters, public sector Export Credit Guarantee Corp of India (ECGC) has decided to bring down its premium rates by 10% from August.

"We will bring down our premium rate, being charged from exporters for covering against export credit risk by 10% and it will be done in August," ECGC general manager M Vaidyanathan said here.

He said although the rate of reduction of premium would vary from country to country, the average rate of reduction would be 10%. The corporation is going to reduce its premium rate after a gap of almost four years.
