Pune: Cummins plans capacity expansion
CUMMINS India, the over Rs. 1,840 crore diesel engine marker, is expanding its capacities, in line with the growing demand for its products non-automotive diesel engines. It is scouting for locations to set up a campus style greenfield facility and is believed to have zeroed in on Baramati, about 110 km from here.
"We need to expand across the board, for engines, generators, components. We are looking at various locations, including Baramati, but it is premature to comment on the exact location of the new plant," Anant J Talaulicar, chairman and MD, Cummins India, said, adding, "We will very shortly announce its location."
