BHEL to venture into nuclear power equipments

Bharat Heavy Electricals is embarking on a massive expansion plan to improve its manufacturing capacity to 20,000 mega watt by 2012 and starting nuclear power equipments manufacturing viz generators, turbines and nuclear reactors with the help of joint venture partners.

The company is likely to play a major role in fulfilment of massive capacity augmentation program during the eleventh five year plan.

BHEL is likely to source castings and forgings from China by March 2009 and will set up office at Shanghai in China.
