Slowdown signs - Auto market in Italy and Spain remains sluggish
In Italy, March car registration has scored 214,218 new vehicles, with a net increase of 0.24% against same month of 2008.
But more than half of the result has been achieved thanks to government subsidies, as in 90% of the cases an old car has been scraped.
However, the balance of the first three months remains negative, down by 19.13% YoY.
In Spain, car sale situation is continuing to be very negative. During March new registrations amounted to 76,503 new vehicles against 124,702 of March 2008. During first three months of 2009 Spanish car market lost about 43% against same period of 2008.
