Five Companies in race for Kudremukh Ductile Iron Pipe Plant
Five companies are in race & have qualified in the technical bid for Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd's proposed ductile iron spun pipe plant proposed in Mangalore.
In about next two weeks, price bids will be opened and the turnkey contractor for INR 225 crore project will be finalized by May end. The 100,000 tonnes pipe plant is likely to be the first in the public sector. Presently the main players in the field are Jindals and Electrosteel Castings. The proposed plant will produce pipes in the range of 100 mm-1,000 mm Dia. The plant is likely to be commissioned by 2010.
